A Wild Idea

More than 20 years ago, the Landeros family opened Milpa Kitchen & Cantina, a restaurant serving authentic Mexican dishes to the people of Denton, Texas. As business boomed, the Landeros family debuted a second sister restaurant: Pepitas Vegan Taqueria.

Then in 2020, a new idea emerged to take Milpa’s cantina element to the next level — Wild Cactus Cantina & Grill. As fate would have it, Denton’s famed Mulberry Street Cantina was looking to revamp their business, and their space was the perfect location for Wild Cactus. Wild Cactus brings Milpa’s handcrafted margaritas and cocktails to an upscale, contemporary cantina setting right off the Denton Square. With a selection of tapas and other small bites (guac, anyone?), delicious drinks, and a great atmosphere, Wild Cactus is the perfect place to enjoy a downtown evening in Denton.
